The 2016 National Summer Camp of Excellent College Students was held by the School of Public Affairs and the Institute of Public Policy on July 13th,2016. It’s aim was to strengthen the communication of excellent college students and to further their study. Professor Chen Zhenming, the dean of the School of Public Affairs, professor Hu Rong, deputy dean, Zhao Xiaohui and deputy secretary of Party Committee attended the openning ceremony hosted by Hu Rong.
At the beginning, Chen Zhenming gave a welcome speech that conveyed the sincere welcome to camper students.Then he introduced the history and the subject structure of the School of Public Affairs. Dean Chen pointed out that under today, the relative subjects of School of the Public Affairs and the Institute of Public Policy focus on the significant fields of the economic and social reform of China, so the significance of the subjects becomes more and more obvious. Dean Chen wished students would take good use of this chance to learn the this subject deeply in more depth and comprehend more comprehensively the need to communicate with teachers and students.
Over 300 students applied to participate in the summer camp, but only 106 students from 52 key universities were finally recruited. The summer camp lasted for four days,and consisted of a symposium held by famous scholars,a communication meeting between main subject leaders and campers, an academic salon, a visit campus and investigations.
